Oval tabletop baskets for bread (or almost anything else) have a tight weave and a lacquered finish for durability. A rolled tube edge provides a nice finish. Baskets are produced from fast-growing renewable water vines that are thinner than most rattan and yield a strong yet lightweight weave with attractive tonal shading. Baskets are woven by hand, so sizes vary slightly.
